The practice notebook

AI meeting assistant vs interview copilot

Start with the output you need: a reliable record of a conversation, help thinking during it, or a better practice answer afterward. The product labels alone will not tell you which workflow a plan supports.

We make ClawPad. This is our editorial guide, based on public vendor pages and our product documentation. We have not independently tested the other products. Prices are published USD figures; check current checkout terms before paying.

Overlap is real. Cluely describes both shareable meeting notes and live answers using conversation and screen context. Beyz's meeting assistant describes speaking prompts, live transcription/translation, note cards, summaries, and action items. Neither category should be reduced to a single feature.

Three scenarios that make the choice clearer

A weekly project meeting

Your problem is lost decisions. Choose a workflow that lets someone correct the notes, identify who owns each action, and share the result with the right people. Live prompts are secondary if the team still leaves with an unreliable record.

A permitted peer-led mock interview

Your problem is explaining a tradeoff. Give your partner the question and answer unaided first. Then use assistance to examine what you missed and repeat the answer. A full meeting archive may matter less than useful follow-up context. Use the 30-minute rehearsal to keep the session focused.

A permitted customer discovery call

You may need both live reminders and a faithful summary. Ask how the tool distinguishes the customer's words from generated suggestions. Review the final notes before treating a suggestion as a customer request. Confirm that the organization permits the tool and the information you plan to share.

Check what the quoted price actually includes

Cluely's pricing page lists a limited free Starter plan, Pro at $19.99 per month, and Pro + Undetectability at $149.99 per month. The higher price is a separate tier with screen-share-hiding claims, not the entry price for ordinary live AI help. Its page metadata and official comparison article also advertise Pro at $11.99 per month billed annually. The article dates its information to March 2026; confirm the annual charge and current terms at checkout.

Beyz's published plans show $49.99 monthly, $32.99 per month billed quarterly, and $24.99 per month billed semiannually. Those longer-cadence rates correspond to $98.97 every three months and $149.94 every six months before any tax or checkout adjustment. Its monthly table excludes Coding Assistant while the longer plans include it. The presence of a separate meeting page does not establish that every meeting feature is included in each plan; verify your intended workflow.

For a product that publishes both call notes and an AI mock interviewer, read the Parakeet AI comparison. Compare Interview Sidekick for mock practice and session review.

Permission comes before capture

  1. Agree on the use. Explain whether the tool records, transcribes, or generates live suggestions. Confirm the meeting owner's and participants' expectations before starting.
  2. Minimize the context. Share only material approved for that service. A resume, customer document, or screen capture can contain information unrelated to the question.
  3. Check what happens afterward. Understand retention, deletion, training use, and who can access transcripts and summaries. Review the actual plan's terms.
  4. Respect assessment rules. Use interview assistance for preparation and permitted educational practice. Do not use it to conceal prohibited assistance in an assessment.

Bot-free capture and OS-level capture exclusion do not establish consent or assessment permission. ClawPad's acceptable-use policy defines the product boundary. For ClawPad, follow the setup guide and test the supported workflow on your actual computer.

Common questions

Can a meeting assistant also give live answers?

Yes. Product categories overlap. Some meeting assistants combine transcription and notes with live suggestions. Check whether the particular plan supports the live workflow you need instead of assuming the category label defines every feature.

Does bot-free recording mean consent is unnecessary?

No. The absence of a meeting bot does not establish permission to record, transcribe, or send content to an AI service. Agree on use with participants and follow the applicable organization and assessment policies.

Which category is ClawPad in?

ClawPad is an interview-practice and educational assistance tool. It supports self-led and peer-led practice, including written guidance and supported spoken workflows. It should not be selected as a replacement for a team's meeting archive or action-item system.
