2026 Interview Practice Tool Comparison

Baseline official sources reviewed October 8, 2026. The three focused workflow updates linked below are dated October 13; the Parakeet AI preparation, mock-practice and billing review is dated October 29. Other source and pricing dates remain unchanged. These are vendor claims, not hands-on results. ClawPad is this site's own product.

Practice and feedback tools serve a different purpose from live guidance. An unstated overlay feature is not a coaching-quality score.

Baseline official sources reviewed October 8, 2026. Later focused workflow reviews are dated on the relevant pages. These are vendor-published claims, not independent verification. “Not stated” identifies a gap in the reviewed source. It does not establish that a feature is absent. Pricing and availability can change; confirm current terms with the vendor. No hands-on answer-quality, speed, or compatibility comparison was performed. Buyer Guide

What to check before you choose

Five practical checks for your next practice session.

  1. Test your screen share

Native capture exclusion can keep coaching notes out of supported screen shares. Check the received live view and each recording path separately on a second device. Record the exact versions and shared surface with the verification method and blank record. Cluely publishes a self-test and Final Round AI recommends private checks; verification advice is not exclusive to ClawPad.

  2. Reduce desktop clicks

A mobile assistant, a phone-call mode and a desktop controller do different jobs. ClawPad’s Remote Pad beta controls the desktop over a trusted local network using unencrypted HTTP and WebSocket traffic. Check its gestures and reconnect limits. Desktop interactions can still change focus.

  3. Look for clear diagrams

Interview Coder publishes architecture and capacity estimates; Interview Solver publishes diagrams and phone controls. These are shared features. Try the changed-constraint diagram walkthrough and capacity calculator to check the assumptions and explanation you need.

  4. Keep answers grounded in your experience

Uploaded stories and resume context are common. Inspect how individual facts are approved, excluded and traced into an answer. The approved-evidence example shows a missing-metric follow-up and a skeptical review. No AI output is guaranteed to be free of invented details.

  5. Check the full cost

Compare billing periods, included usage, and cancellation terms. ClawPad's Focus monthly plan is $39/mo; review the limits before choosing.

Fit & Permission

Choose the practice task before choosing a plan

Use tools for rehearsal, or during live sessions only where assistance is explicitly permitted. Obtain any required consent to capture material or process speech. Review the acceptable-use policy; a hidden overlay is not permission.

Speaking feedback or written guidance?

If delivery and pacing are the problem, evaluate a spoken mock interviewer and its feedback. ClawPad’s Live Assist can process permitted audio and show written guidance. It does not speak the answer for you. Review the audio controls and setup and rehearse the response in your own words.

Which role and level?

Use the role-specific ladders to match the actual interview. Each family has its own titles and question kinds. L4–L7 is not a universal scale across roles or employers, and selecting a level does not prove the depth of an answer.

What data leaves the device?

Screen-share exclusion concerns captured pixels. It does not mean private data stays on the computer. ClawPad’s managed AI uses cloud services for submitted content; on-device arithmetic checks cover a narrower task. Read the privacy policy and current subprocessor list before supplying sensitive material.

Comparison FAQ

Frequently asked questions about AI interview copilots.

How this comparison was compiled and what it does not claim.

What is an AI interview copilot tool?

An AI interview copilot is a desktop or browser application that provides transcription, question analysis, structured talk tracks, and system design guidance for interview preparation and mock practice. ClawPad's Acceptable Use Policy limits it to practice and to interviews where assistance is explicitly permitted.

How was this comparison compiled?

Every competitor cell is read from the vendor's linked official page or shown as Not stated. The baseline official-source review is October 8, 2026. Focused Cluely, Interview Coder and Final Round AI workflow updates are dated October 13; the Parakeet AI preparation, mock-practice and billing review is dated October 29. Individual comparison pages identify sources and review dates. This is not a refresh of all prices or vendors. Unresolved prices and terms are identified explicitly. ClawPad is this site's own product; the comparison is not independent verification.

How do AI interview copilots keep coaching notes private during screen-sharing practice?

Native desktop tools can ask macOS or Windows to exclude the coaching window from a screen share. This is a request, not proof that the window is hidden. Capture exclusion depends on the OS, capture client, and sharing mode. Verify the received recording on a second device before a permitted session.
